We had been in conversation with a local pest control company for over a year about adding GPS to their small fleet, however they felt because they only had a couple of trucks that they didn’t need it. Although we informed the owners about the benefits of the platform in lowering costs in fuel, overtime and helping to provide better customer service, regardless of the size of their fleet, they simply were not ready to implement the tracking system.
Then recently we received a call one from the owners indicating that they were now ready to move forward with the tracking implementation. What changed their mind was a report that one of their drivers was driving erratically, weaving in and out of traffic, and speeding. This was of great interest to them as the employee was not on duty at the time and was not supposed to be driving the vehicle on off hours.
We installed the GPS tracking devices on their vehicles and then setup a schedule to send them alerts if any vehicle was being driven during off hours, going above posted speeds, or doing any erratic driving, such as fast acceleration and cornering. Since they valued their employee and wanted to keep him, implementing our system allowed them to save that relationship while also averting potential problems and curtailing costs in fuel and insurance claims.
